Why Kanon Stands for European Quality

A Clear Choice

At Kanon Loading Equipment, we make a deliberate choice: we exclusively use high-quality European materials in the construction of our loading arms. While this sometimes means competing with lower cost alternatives, we never compromise on what matters most: safety, durability and long-term reliability. Selecting the right materials is not just a technical requirement, it reflects our commitment to building equipment our customers can depend on for years to come.

Long-Term Vision

One of the key distinctions in global manufacturing lies in approach. European suppliers typically prioritise long-term quality, traceability and continuity in client relationships. In other regions, the focus can lean more toward fast production and competitive pricing, which may sometimes come at the expense of consistency. At Kanon, we choose to work with partners who share our long-term outlook, because reliability starts with a clear and sustainable approach to engineering and supply.

Built for Compliance

All Kanon loading arms are classified as pressure equipment, and therefore must comply with the EU’s Pressure Equipment Directive (PED). This directive ensures that potentially hazardous components are designed and manufactured according to strict safety regulations.

Under the PED, materials must come with 3.1 certificates, which confirm their origin, chemical composition and mechanical properties. Each certificate is linked to a unique code engraved on the material itself and must be issued by a manufacturer certified under ISO 9001 by an EU-accredited body.

Full Traceability

Every Kanon product is delivered with complete documentation. From the steel’s origin to how it was processed, welded and tested — everything is recorded and traceable for at least ten years. This level of transparency is vital for safety, servicing and regulatory compliance.

By contrast, materials from uncertain sources often lack reliable certification. We’ve seen examples where documentation was incomplete, inconsistent, or mismatched with the materials delivered. For pressure equipment, such risks are simply unacceptable.

A Firm Policy

At Kanon, we follow a clear and consistent policy: we do not use materials of non-European origin. We work exclusively with trusted European suppliers who meet all applicable standards for quality and traceability. This may result in higher costs or longer lead times, but it ensures that our loading arms meet the highest expectations for safety, performance and accountability. Choosing certified European materials is not just about compliance, it is about long-term value. It leads to fewer failures, reduced maintenance and greater peace of mind. We believe in doing things right from the very first weld.

Reliability that lasts

European materials offer more than just compliance. They result in fewer breakdowns, longer service life, and greater peace of mind. At Kanon, we don’t believe in shortcuts. We believe in building equipment that works—safely, reliably and with full accountability.
